Saraswati Shilpayan Art And Handicraft School 

 Recently turned 25 The journey of the organization started with the hands of artist Aparna Modak and her father Arun Chandra Modak. At first the classes started at home with only four-five students. As they won one competition after another, the name of the organization slowly spread.

 

Now various courses are conducted here. Painting includes Pastel Color, Oil Color, Charcoal, Acrylic Color, Pencil Sketch, Indian Art, Western Art, Jamini Roy Art, Madhubani, Tempera Painting, Miniature Painting. Crafts taught include glass painting, pot painting, liquid embroidery, paper mould, boutique, batik, fabric and ornament making. Government recognition

Such training aims to make women self-reliant in future, so that they can learn and earn from home. People from three years old to 60 years old also learn here. At present, the institution has outgrown its branches in Barasat, Madhyamgram, Ganganagar, Virati, Bamangachi, Dattapukur, Bira in various parts of West Bengal. Besides, training centers will be opened in different parts of West Bengal and India in the coming days.

 Apart from this, there is also the facility of online classes which are taking classes from different states like Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh and outside the country from America, England, France.

 Each training center has two or three assistant teachers to ensure that each student learns properly.

 

Children here are regularly awarded in various competitions. They have also participated in various programs organized by government initiatives and have been awarded. Schools have their own exams. The school authorities want to start an exhibition from this year. This organization plans to teach painting and handicrafts to the children of police and army families of 24 parganas for free on Saraswati Puja this year. Incidentally, the fees in this school are very low. There are special concessions for the needy poor students and they are also supported. Currently in the institution
